FIRST REQUEST
CLASS RANK LISTS

Dear Principal or Registrar:

On behalf of the three Arizona public universities, thank you for your cooperation in providing class rank listings of your entering junior and senior classes.  This information provides our universities avenues for inviting your students to attend special university events, send correspondence to your students about admission processes, and perhaps most importantly, provide them with scholarship opportunities.

Please e-mail (or send FOUR, if mailed) copies of your complete class rank lists of students for the class years of 2009 after the fifth semester and the class of 2010 after the third semester.  To enable your electronic data to be imported properly, we are asking that you format the data in an Excel or Word document.  For your convenience, a downloadable spreadsheet, with the exact columns and column order as the sample attached, is provided on our website, www.azregents.edu, for you to use.  Please include first and last names, SIAS numbers, addresses, phone numbers, GPA, rank in class, birth date, ethnicity, and e-mail addresses, and be sure to include the total number of students in the class.  If you do not collect information on one or more of the requested items, please leave that column blank, but do not delete the column.

Please send your listings by Friday, April 4, 2008.  This will ensure your students are included in upcoming activities and important mailings.

Send your lists via:
e-mail to: Jewelyn Jenson (JJ) (jewelyn.jenson@azregents.edu) (preferred method)
or, mail to: Attn: Jewelyn Jenson (JJ)
Arizona Board of Regents
2020 N. Central Ave., Suite 230
Phoenix, AZ 85004
or, fax to: 602-229-2555 (Attention: JJ)

The universities use the lists for several purposes including inviting your students to attend special university events, correspondence to students about admission processes, and scholarship opportunities.  Each of the universities offers several merit based scholarships and we ask that you encourage students to apply for admission at the beginning of their senior year and to send the universities their SAT/ACT scores.  Selection for these scholarships will be determined using a multiple criteria formula applied to students who have submitted undergraduate admission applications and test scores to each of the universities.

Thank you for your assistance in encouraging students to consider, explore, and enroll at one of our outstanding Arizona public universities.

Sincerely,

Mark S. Denke
