Nadine and Edward Carson

Nadine and Edward Carson are both graduates of Arizona State University. Their long-standing support includes leadership with the Old Main Restoration, the Edward and Nadine Carson Presidential Chair and the Nadine and Ed Carson Student Athlete Center in Intercollegiate Athletics.

The Carsons live in Phoenix and in Beverly Hills, providing leadership in both communities. They have two children – Dawn and Tod– and two grandchildren – Katy and Eddie.

Nadine Carson

Mrs. Carson is committed to raising scholarship funds on the local and national level for academically outstanding college scientists studying in the fields of natural science medicine and engineering through Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS).

She has provided service and leadership to the ASU Sun Angel Foundation Board, ASU Campaign for Leadership, Phoenix Children's Theater, Phoenix Symphony, Phoenix Art Museum, Homes for Emotionally Troubled Children and Teens, Les Dames for the Smithsonian, Camp Fire Regional Council Board, Arizona Cancer Center, Council of the Children's Burn Foundation, and the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic Auxiliary.

Mrs. Carson has received several awards for her outstanding service, including the Albert Schweitzer Award by the Hugh O'Brien Leadership Foundation, the Leadership Award from Big Sisters of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Humanitarian Award for the California Hospital Medical Center, and the Angel and Light Awards from ARCS.

Edward M. Carson

Mr. Carson's record of service to ASU goes back to his senior year when he served as student body president. He has served as president of the ASU Alumni Association, a member of the ASU Architecture Foundation and the ASU Foundation Board, and was a founding member of both the ASU Law Society and the College of Business Dean's Council of 100. He also was instrumental in the creation of the College of Business' First Interstate Center for Services Marketing and Management, the country's leading university-based hub for study in the field. He is currently co-chair of the ASU Campaign for Leadership.

Ed enjoyed a distinguished career with First Interstate Bancorp, where he began as a teller and retired in 1995 as Chairman and CEO.

He has served on the Boards of the Arizona Council for Economic Education, Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, Phoenix Executive Club, the Phoenix Symphony Association, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Foundation, and others.
