As we all probably know by now, Arizona Senate Bill 1214 wants to allow
civilians to carry legally concealed
firearms on any college or university in the state so long as they have a
permit.

The issue of in-state tuition for illegal immigrant students has stirred much
controversy on our campus and
throughout the state. It should come as no surprise that there is controversy
because Arizona voters, with
over 70 percent of the vote I might add, thought they had dealt with the issue
once and for all.

PM Recently, The Sun's guest columnist Gary Knox commented on a 'meeting' hosted
in Yuma by five
regents from Northern Arizona University. He noted in paragraph one that they
had renamed the crisis
in education 'the quiet crisis' - though I don't think that is what they call it
in the inner city, or in Iraq.
