Suppose you had to save up enough cash to buy a house. You'd have gray hair by

you could move in. Without an auto loan, your only set of wheels might be a
bicycle. Mean-
while, you'd lose out on all kinds of opportunities: jobs, recreation, the
chance to build equity.
You know that responsible borrowing is a basic tool of budgeting and economic
development.
But you may need to remind your state legislator.

A quiet crisis is threatening America's economic competitiveness, according to
the Arizona
Board of Regents. The crisis, Regent Fred DuVal said, is the lack of
funding and overall
commitment allotted to higher education in the U.S. "It's a quiet crisis because
America
hasn't taken notice," DuVal said to an ASU Board of Trustees audience during a
speech
at ASU's Fulton Center Monday morning.
Copper theft strikes UA again

With copper value rising, authorities are cracking down, increasing police
presence
A break-in and theft of copper at the UA Materials Laboratory, 4717 E. Fort
Lowell Road,
may mark another year of high copper theft for the UA and Tucson. The Jan. 11
incident
resulted in over $50,000 worth of damage and $3,000 worth in missing copper.

When people hear "study abroad," they usually think Italy, Germany or Spain.
They might
think of faraway destinations where English isn't the primary language and there
isn't a
McDonald's on every corner. Some might even call to mind places where the U.S.
dollar
used to have value. Regardless of what the words "study abroad" bring to mind,

thought of possibly studying abroad in one's own English-speaking,
